Supporting Food Access in Our Community

In November, members of the Outdoor Art Club came together to support food access in Marin by volunteering with ExtraFood Marin, one of the Club’s Community Grant recipients.

Volunteers met at the San Rafael Civic Center during the AIM Farmers’ Market, where rescued produce was carefully sorted and packaged. This hands-on effort ensured fresh fruits and vegetables were ready for timely delivery to community partners serving individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

The morning was a powerful reminder of how small, collective actions can have an immediate and meaningful impact. By helping prepare high-quality, rescued food for redistribution, volunteers played a direct role in reducing food waste while supporting neighbors in need.

Additional photos from a separate volunteer event with Vivalon Meals-on-Wheels will be shared soon. During that event, meals were distributed to clients along with small gifts, adding an extra moment of care and connection to the delivery experience.

The Outdoor Art Club is proud to support organizations that strengthen community well-being and address essential needs through compassion, service, and collaboration.
